Group Therapy
The Inner Spotlight: An Online, Ongoing Therapy Group for Exploring Your Creative Self
This group isn't about productivity or building a portfolio. It’s just a space to pull up a chair, connect with others, and figure out where you actually stand with your creative life right now. This is a neurodivergent-affirming and LGBTQIA+ inclusive space. You don't need to mask, fix yourself, or fit into a specific box to belong in this room.
You don't need to be a professional artist, and you definitely don't need to have anything figured out before you walk through the door. You don't have to perform or prove anything here. Come as you are—stuck, uncertain, curious, nervous or tired. Let’s sit with it together and see what’s actually there.
What We Talk About
This is a space where you can bring it all. Together, we will look at the different parts that shape your life and your self-expression. We will talk about everything from old family patterns, trauma, and the isolating weight of burnout to impostor syndrome, grief, depression, and anxiety (especially the fear of showing your work to others). We will also look at your relationships, identity, cultural background, and how all these pieces impact your daily life and your creative voice.
How We Work Together
My therapeutic approach for group work explores how our relationships shape us. Together, we will explore how your past experiences might be creating patterns in your current life and your art.
What You Will Get Out of It
This group is about real healing, growth, and connection. It is a place to feel seen and supported as you figure out how to take up space in front of others. We will work on giving you permission to matter, to make yourself known, and to be comfortably seen and heard. You will find deep support from fellow members who are navigating their own creative journeys right alongside you.

You’ll explore all of this with me, Jessica Quiñones (PhD, MMus, BMus, PGDip). I am a musician with over 25 years of industry experience, a UKCP-registered Psychotherapist, and a member of the Music Industry Therapist Collective (MITC).

Frequently Asked Questions
This group consists of other adults (18+) who share similar experiences and challenges within the creative and performing arts. This means you’ll be with people who genuinely understand the unique pressures and joys of your world. It’s a real chance to connect, share experiences, and learn from each other in a supportive setting.
There are never more than 8 members in the group at one time to allow space for each member to bring and share what they need to with the group.
It’s completely normal to feel nervous about joining a new group! Many people feel that way at first. This is a confidentially held and supportive environment where everyone is encouraged to participate at their own pace. I will guide the sessions and work to ensure everyone feels respected and heard. Remember, everyone in the group is there for a similar reason, so you’re not alone.
The group will be led by me, Jessica Quiñones, PhD, a UKCP reg. Psychotherapist experienced in working with artists of all backgrounds– and using the lens of Relational Transactional Analysis and contemporary psychoanalytic thinking.
I understand the things you’re dealing with in a very real way because I’ve also walked an (at times, very painful) artistic road myself. My professional flute career has meant I’ve worked in many diverse parts of the industry: from touring Bollywood in India to playing in the Buenos Aires tango scene to London’s esteemed classical conservatories. I also come from a family of photographers, videographers, designers and fine artists. I also know what it’s like to be in the spotlight as a performer with 25 years’ worth of experience standing in front of audiences and demonstrating my craft to the world.
I bring all parts of myself (artist, psychotherapist, expat, Latina, mother, daughter) to this group as a way to guide, facilitate and hold a space for everyone there.
Anything that’s on your mind, whether it feels big or small, silly or serious, current or from the past. If it’s bothering you, causing you distress, or you want to understand it better, it’s welcome in this space.
Yes, for many, group therapy can be a highly effective alternative or complement to individual therapy.
It’s understandable to wonder if joining this group is right for you if you’re already seeing someone for one-on-one therapy. Sometimes, being part of a group can be extremely helpful alongside your therapy as an add-on to the work. Other times, individuals choose group therapy after they have done a set number of 1:1 sessions with a psychotherapist first. However, it’s always a good idea to chat with your therapist about it. They can help you figure out if this group would be a good addition to the support you’re already getting.
Yes, you’re welcome to join the weekly therapy group at any point in the year. We ask for a minimum commitment of 12 sessions to help the group stay consistent and benefit all members. (Our next cycle officially restarts on Tuesday, 8 September 2026.)
